A little something for today. I hope you won't take this as a political statement of any sort... it's my way of remembering my grandpa who was prisoner in Dachau.

I'm not sure if other countries have the same tradition, but in Aus we have a day called ANZA day to honor our soldiers that have gone to wars. The whole theme of the day is the idea 'lest we forget'. I think it is a wonderful thing that you have done, and I hope it encourages others to think of those who's shoulders we stand on.

I believe in general it's called Memorial Day or something similar but every Country has one and it falls on different dates for every Country, I believe.

27th January is the international Day for commemorating the victim of the Holocaust though, same date all over the world.
Like women day falls on march 8th.
