SecretComicLover (Guest), 02 Dec 2011 06:55 pmI guess I could add that it could be a lot harder if you've never learned how to use a multi-speed... It would be good to have someone to help you get into it gradually and take you in stride... Part of it is having the will and the means--I suppose a fish could ride a bike and like it if she wants to badly enough...

I think that's beyond the point. It's not will and means it's empirical attempt.
I think what she is trying to state is that when emotions are involved is not really as simple as remembering how to ride a bike.
I think what she is trying to say is that Kane is perfect with his imperfections because he is very human and makes mistakes.
I think she is trying to show that Castalia is smart enough to understand that and doesn't hold it against him.
Panel 3, very emblematic. Her line is wonderful.
Will and means have nothing to do with this and having people helping you ease in could be more of a problem if you are the one who has been doing the easing in all the while.
Being caught and helped after you tried something yourself is the fast track to learning.
@Black Coffee: I was just rambling, I understand that, I was saying that it could be even more complicated with the first thing at least--emotions might be like handling multiple speeds when you're new to it, and you most likely can't get it right the first time, so one can understand, help, and break the fall... This is still the point of view of a fish who wishes for a bike, even knowing she doesn't need it to get by...

Black Coffee is right! About the whole riding a bike thing. And the perfect for being imperfect. <3 Castalia is a lucky woman.
Buh? I'm a little confused...when he asks her if that hurt or not it makes it sound like they did go all the way. O-o Why's he asking her that if they didn't?

You might want to read the curiosities on the blog:

I just posted them.
One more thing to add: I guess one could say that there are different definitions of perfect for different people, and some of it involves having imperfections....
And it's good that they'd try to get it right the second time around, I acknowledge that it usually gets better with practice and it's good to have plenty of help and trust in any cycling case... and you might remember me suspecting that Castalia already stretched her flower thin with all the awesome moves she has in swordplay, and she was already pretty comfortable, so I suspect that's probably why it wouldn't hurt...
