They didn't get to that before?

I read that it's often "comediennes" for female comedians...

dedasaur, November 16th, 2011, 6:14 pm

In this case comedians does not mean just the two of them but a full company of actors. Which translates directly from a baraccone concept: let's keep the theatrical bits out of serious life.

It's correct either way. Comedians is a generic plural.
Commediennes is a francesism, plural females.
There is also: female comedians.

At one point in history they tried to add female plural to neutral or male words like architect... the problem is that you need to borrow from French and have a host/hostess situation with suffixes.

Architectettes though, on so many levels and so many other languages... sounds wrong and it's a nightmare to spell and does not quite follow the generic rules.
So for certain words they started adding "female" in the front to specify.

Actually even in French there's no female form for architect.. We say "un architecte" for a man, "une architecte" for a woman.

yeah, but there's still a gender defined by the article. It's different for Latin based languages.
In Italian too, the article defines the gender but things are male or female and there is no neutral. Like... the chair.. the chair is female, the table is male, the door is female and so forth.

We do have a weird architetta in feminine form. But tetta sounds like boobies... quite frankly I prefer to use the article to define the fact that the architect is a girl. LOL

It's a bit odd to see Pea enjoying herself like that... But then again a Pea in love is a beautiful thing.

Black Coffee (Guest), November 17th, 2011, 3:15 am

Not really,
Ms Pea is part of the diabolic duo after all and in chapter 8, when a similar situation came up, she had her share of fun too. (not to mention when she tortured the doc with Calli in devil's desguise).

I don't really think she is in love just yet. xD
But, indeed, it is nice for her all-too-proper appearance crack. C:
But all the girl nights and her decisions (or rather, how she thought as she came to them) have showed she cares for her sisters quite much and in a way, they inspire her. ^^

Awww, yeah <3 . I was hoping for some smoochy goodness XD. Also, yay new leaf! After the Summer of Love we have a new Spring in Winter, yaddadaaa <333
In terms of gestures I like the way Castalia clings/grabs at him, between abandon and claim and... comfort :). He is so very 'grabbable' too *รง* .

P.S.: Gioietta, is that a poke to Rapunzel&Gothel in the bottom panel on the left?
Comprehension>>>>>>>competition uh-uh.

dedasaur, November 18th, 2011, 6:29 am

yeah, the best line of the movie and they did not use it to their advantage...sigh.
It's anyway an echo to chapter 8 as well.

Black Legacy (Guest), June 5th, 2012, 11:47 am

Also, architectette made me laugh xD
