She's acting a little cold now, even for hearing both halves of the whole truth--that he originally married her as a ploy, to successfully keep her until the ransom or whatever it was, but now he adores her for real... I suppose this is another test... how will this turn out?
And the matter of choosing has an even deeper significance than it had at the beginning...
